Pay Your Respects

My view of paying people respect is by not going to a complete strangers grave for the sake of an assignment.

I’m sorry but I simply can’t do it. There is only one gravesite that I will visit and it’s all the way back home in Australia. Having lost someone extremely close to me a few years ago, it creeps me completely out that there might be someone I don’t know taking photos of her grave and leaving flowers. I just couldn’t bring myself to do that to anyone. I know this will probably count as an incomplete. But I’m leaving this one out. It’s a very personal and vulnerable thing to do to visit a deceased person. You’re acknowledging the pain you’re going through and frankly it’s nobody else’s business. Once again, that’s just my view. If others in the class want to participate then that’s fine with me. I’m not trying to take away from this overall assessment item; it’s a great exercise in forcing you to think differently. But I’m not comfortable with this one.

Cheers.
